29 April 2010 -

Brussels 27 April 2010: A panel of Members of the European Parliament, chaired by German MEP Thomas Mann (EPP), have selected the winners of the 2010 EACA Care Awards from 19 finalists entered from 11 countries. The jury included Marije Cornelissen (GREEN/EFA), Piotr Borys (EPP), Georgios Papanikolaou (EPP), Ádám Kósa (EPP), and Dan Luca, Public Relations Director for EurActiv. The presentation of the awards will take place at the European Parliament on 23rd June 2010.  Finalists are listed on www.careawards.eu

The EACA Care Awards recognise excellence in social marketing as part of EACA's overall commitment to promote Corporate Social Responsibility. The main aim of this annual ceremony is to highlight the advertising industry's specific contribution to society by involving politicians in the selection of the most successful and creative social marketing campaigns.

Entries in the EACA Care Awards cover subjects such as public health, environment, sustainable consumption, public safety, human rights, domestic violence, education, discrimination and other similar topical public issues. The entries are judged in 6 categories: Non-profit Organisations and Non-governmental Bodies; Government Bodies and Related Organisations; Local and Regional Authorities; Public and Private sector Businesses; Corporate Governance (CSR) and Eco-friendly internal processes.

The EACA Care Award is supported by ACT Responsible (ACT) - a non-profit initiative promoting responsible communication on sustainability, equitable development and social responsibility. All the entries will be included in the ACT Responsible online gallery and eligible for selection in the ACT Responsible World Tour Exhibition.
